Bill Sybers grew up in a cornfield in Iowa and on the beach in Florida. After college and graduate school he became a professional editor for 10 years. He got married and acquired a couple of Tibetan Mastiffs (a very bad idea in a Baltimore townhouse). After a couple of years, he and his wife Patty moved to Tuba City, Arizona, part of the Navajo Nation. They began rescuing dogs and cats. After wondering if he wanted to be an editor for the rest of his life, he hatched the crazy idea of being a veterinarian. He, Patty, and their 12 dogs and cats moved to Virginia near where Patty had grown up. He attended veterinary school at Ross University in St. Kitts. After 11 years at Robinson Animal Hospital in Johnson City, he began working at Andes-Straley full time in September 2018. He and Patty have 4 children, 5 dogs, 8 cats, a rabbit, and 20+ chickens.
